Washer Repair Questions

Why is my washer not draining?

A blocked drain filter or a kinked drain hose is the usual starting point, and both are worth checking yourself first. Beyond that it is commonly the drain pump, something lodged inside it, or a control fault stopping the pump from running. Telling those apart means opening the machine.

Why is my washer leaking?

Where the water appears matters more than how much there is. A leak at the front of a front-load machine often points to the door seal, where a tear or trapped debris is usually visible. Water underneath more often comes from a hose connection, the pump housing or the tub seal. Note whether it leaks during fill, wash or spin and tell us when you book.

Why does my washer shake or bang during the spin cycle?

Start with the load and the levelling, which explain a large share of shaking complaints: an unbalanced load, feet that are not level, or shipping bolts never removed after delivery. If the machine is level and the load is even and it still bangs, worn drum bearings, suspension rods or a broken shock absorber are more likely, and those need inspection.

Is my washer worth repairing or should I replace it?

A common rule of thumb is to weigh the repair against half the price of a comparable new machine, alongside the age of the one you have. A machine under roughly eight years old facing a modest repair is usually worth fixing; an older machine needing a major component is a closer call. The technician will say plainly when replacement is the better value.

How does washer repair pricing work?

The cost depends on which part has failed and how much labour the job takes, and those vary widely: clearing a blocked pump and replacing drum bearings are very different work on the same machine. That is why we do not publish a flat rate. The technician works the price out for your specific fault on site.

Do you offer same-day washer repair in London?

Same-day service is often available in London, but it is not something we guarantee. It depends on the day’s schedule, where you are, and whether the part your machine needs is already on the van. Call with your postal code and we will tell you the soonest window we actually have.
