Dishwasher Repair Questions
Why is my dishwasher not draining?
Start with the filter in the bottom of the tub: most modern dishwashers have one that needs rinsing by hand, and a clogged filter is the most common cause. If the dishwasher drains through a garbage disposal, run the disposal first, and if the disposal is new, check that its knockout plug was removed. After that it is commonly a kinked drain hose or a failed drain pump, which needs inspection.
Why is my dishwasher leaking?
Suds are a common culprit: regular dish soap, or too much detergent, foams out past the door. Otherwise note where the water appears. A leak at the front corners often points to the door gasket or a dishwasher that is not level; water underneath more often comes from the supply connection, the pump or a hose. If it keeps leaking, turn off the water valve under the sink and tell us where the water appears when you book.
Why are my dishes still dirty after a cycle?
Check the simple things first: clean the filter, make sure nothing tall is stopping the spray arms from turning, and clear any blocked holes in the arms. Running the kitchen tap until it is hot before starting a cycle also helps. If dishes are still dirty after that, the dishwasher may not be filling or heating properly, or the wash pump may be weak, and those need inspection.
Is my dishwasher worth repairing or should I replace it?
Dishwashers cost less to replace than most appliances, so the balance tips sooner than it does for a refrigerator. A door gasket, inlet valve or drain pump is usually worth fixing on a machine under about seven years old. A failed control board or a leaking tub on an older machine is often the point where replacement makes more sense, and the technician will say so plainly.
How does dishwasher repair pricing work?
Pricing follows the part and the labour. Replacing a door gasket is quick; reaching a drain pump or a control board usually means pulling the dishwasher out from under the counter. Because the work varies that much, we do not publish a flat rate. The technician works out the price for your specific fault on site.
Do you offer same-day dishwasher repair in London?
Same-day service is often available in London, but it is not something we guarantee. It depends on the day’s schedule, where you are, and whether the part your dishwasher needs is in stock. Call with your postal code and we will tell you the soonest window we actually have.
